Let's meet Afro-Shirazi people in Africa

Many centuries ago, some people from Iranian cities of Shiraz and Bushehr migrated to Africa, including Zanzibar.

In the video, you can catch these people, mostly known as Afro-Shirazis, living in Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous region of Tanzania.

Some expressions in the language of these people are similarly used in the Shirazi accent in Iran.  

Samia Suluhu Hassan who has been serving since 2021 as the first female president of Tanzania is reportedly of Shirazi descent.
